Preliminary models and sketches

 4/23: Fatou proposes a double-chair and the class decides that that is what we shall build. We agree that the back of the chair should be planar and we spend time developing ideas for the base. We settle on a curved base as it will be more visually interesting than the other ideas.

Camraderie

My ideas for two-person objects are a little silly, but that's what I like about them.

My sketch needs improvement. The new backscratcher would be curved instead of having sharp angles.

Instead of sharing two legs, they will share one leg and each have one leg of their own for a total of three leg holes in one garment.

Success is defined by personal level of improvement

4.6.2014 Sketch various pattern designs onto grid shapes

4.7.2014 Determine that grid will not accommodate desired pattern design.

Redefine object shape to improve fit and grid precision.

Strips of Paper

3.31.2014 Create a pattern by draping strips of bristol paper on a form instead of working with muslin

Duplicate the strip pattern and cut the shape into pieces that follow a grid
